For the first time in the 2007 season, the Boston Celtics played in the United States. This was also the first time that fans got a look at Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in Celtics green. The Celtics won their home opener in a laugher against the New York Knicks, 101-61. When you see this score you would say that the Celtics played really well. That wasn't the case though, the Knicks played that bad.

The Knicks couldn't throw the ball in an ocean, shooting 26% from the field, 22-85. Paul Pierce was the game's high scorer with 22 points in 26 minutes. KG's debut at the garden was a little disappointing, 13 points and 8 rebounds but Ray Allen didn't disappoint anybody with 14 points on 6-8 shooting from the field. The Celtics never trailed in this game and the game was never close. The Knicks high scorer was Stephan Marbury with 9 points.

The Celtics second home game of the year was held in Worcester. Boston took on the New Jersey Nets. This game looked to be the first test for the Celtics but we didn't get to seeit, since the game was cancelled. At half time the officials called the game because the ice under the court began to melt and the court became wet. This wasn't a pretty game towards the end of the second quarter with players slipping all over the court. After the game was cancelled the Celtics players stuck around to sign autographs for disappointed fans.

The C's closed out the week by traveling to Connecticut to play the Philadelphia 76ers at the Mohegan Sun Arena. It was here where the Celtics lost their first game of the 2007 campaign. Inactive for this game were two of the big three, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. The 76ers jumped on the Celtics early with a 23-12 lead. Boston would fight back to take the lead 58-57 in the middle of the third quarter. Philadelphia would storm back to take a ten point lead by the end of the third quarter. This lead would hold for the rest of the game.

The Celtics are now 4-1 in preseason play. Next week the Celtics will play the New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
