Recently, The Observer took a poll of Yeshiva College (YC) and Stern College for Women (SCW) students regarding sexual education. The questions asked were: 1) What type of high school did you attend (public or private, all girls vs. co-ed?) 2) Did you have a sex-ed class in high school or earlier? Did it incorporate aspects of the Jewish point of view on sexuality? Alternatively, did you have a Jewish hashkafic class on sexuality without discussion of technicalities? 3) What is your a) first and b) main source of knowledge about sexuality: Internet, Media, Parents, Friends, School, Other? 4) Are you satisfied with your current knowledge of sexuality in a) the technical sense and b) the Jewish point of view?
While the majority of respondents to the poll requested anonymity, this does not invalidate their positions or the truth of their responses.
