If tolls were brought back on Interstate 95, particularly in the southwestern-most portions of the state, tolls would primarily target out-of-state residents, while still generating a great deal of revenue. This would eliminate the need for the gas tax, giving some much-needed relief to all Connecticut residents.

For a game that seems so universally played, no one seems to agree on a set of rules, penalties for table misconduct or a name. People seem to be divided into three categories: those who passionately call the game beer pong, those who only refer to it as Beirut and those who don't really care one way or the other.

A plan to renovate Matthews Arena and add an adjacent facility for club sports and other events is in the works and could cost about $25 million.
The board of trustees will review and may approve a loan, at their March 1 meeting. The loan would largely pay for the new residence hall proposed for the corner of Ruggles and Tremont Streets, as well as the bond for Matthews renovations and the new recreation facility.

With re-elections approaching, Mayor Thomas Menino recently called upon tax exempt, nonprofit institutions in Boston to donate more money to boost the economy. The initiative could leave Northeastern in a tough position since the university donates a minimal amount of money to the city.

A disciplinary report says the University of New Hampshire disbanded one of its oldest student organizations because counselors got naked in front of campers and mooned them as they left on a bus.
The college earlier had declined to say exactly what happened to prompt it to disband Freshman Camp, a student-run organization that welcomes incoming freshmen before classes start.

While police departments in Boston and throughout Massachusetts are still hammering out specific guidelines to enforce the new law regarding marijuana possession passed Nov. 4, Northeastern officials maintain the university drug policy will not change.
Possession of up to an ounce of marijuana is no longer a criminal offense and will not be reported to the state's criminal history board.

Northeastern may be a tax exempt institution, but a political endeavor by Mayor Thomas M. Menino may drive the school to contribute more financially after years of donating substantially smaller amounts than other local universities and colleges.
Menino announced an initiative last month aimed at getting tax exempt, nonprofit institutions in Boston to voluntarily donate more money during tough economic times - a plan that will affect the city's many universities, including Northeastern, which, according to local media reports, donates $30,600 a year to the city of Boston.

"We kind of shot ourselves in the foot in the first half," said coach Randy Edsall. "All the fumbles and some missed interceptions, but we showed a lot of pride and we did what we had to do."
The second half was a different story. Redshirt freshman Robbie Frey set the tone on special teams by making a sensational play on punt coverage and downing the ball at Buffalo's 1-yard-line with 11:04 in the third quarter. After fumbling the ball five times in the first half, the Huskies did not commit a single turnover in the second.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno is a quintessential Kevin Smith movie. In case you aren't one of the fanatical cult followers of his films, this, like all of his other comedies, contains gratuitous scatological gags, tasteless pop culture references and crude sexual jokes. However, Zack and Miri also has a heart, thanks mainly to the graceful performances of the two title characters.
